Crippled robbery hero Yeung Hoi-keung is likely to be granted financial assistance by the Government, a spokesman said. Officials are considering granting Mr Yeung an ex-gratia payment on compassionate grounds under the Public Finance Ordinance.

Mr Yeung, 39 and a father of two children, was shot when he helped to chase a robber in 1989.
