Newport News gets nuclear job

Newport News Shipbuilding Co of the United States has received US$119 million to prepare for the refuelling and maintenance of a nuclear aircraft carrier.


According to the US Navy, Newport News is expected to be ready for the Nimitz by January. Workers at the shipyard, in Virginia, will refuel the reactor in the carrier it built during the early 1970s.
