Ligier breaks 15-year drought

French Formula One racing team Ligier last night scored its first victory in 15 years, when Olivier Panis took an action-packed Monaco Grand Prix in the Mugen Honda.

Only four cars finished the rain-affected race, in which defending champion Michael Schumacher crashed after only a few corners and championship leader Damon Hill pulled out on the 40th lap.
