Keep up noise-free fight

I have been keeping track of developments in the saga of excessive noise at a construction site in Mid-Levels. The latest letter appeared in these columns on May 23, from Paul Zimmerman, headlined, 'Sunday peace shattered again'. I sympathise with Mr Zimmerman and his fellow residents.

For the past five months I have also had to endure the noise emanating from the Telford Gardens Transport Interchange Construction site and could not get an assurance from New World Development Company, to control the noise on a Sunday. I am a bit luckier than Mr Zimmerman, because through the intervention of the MTR Estate Management Department, the contractor has recently ceased Sunday construction work. I can now enjoy my noise-free Sundays. Many thanks to the MTRC staff members who helped me and showed they really care.

I urge Mr Zimmerman to keep up his noise-free fight. I am sure most readers support you.
