Vietnam Airlines will lease 10 Airbus Industrie A320s in the next year for its regional fleet, Airbus said, correcting previous reports the airline planned to buy the aircraft.

Airbus instead will sell the aircraft to a British Virgin Islands-registered firm called Aerostar Leasing. Although no value was disclosed, the twin-engine, narrow-body aircraft has a list price of US$47 million.

The aircraft will be delivered between June and early next year and will link Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to destinations across Asia, while also serving domestic routes.
