MOGADISHU: Two Somalis were killed in a shootout after gunmen ambushed Belgian troops on night patrol in the southern town of Kismayu yesterday, a United Nations official said.
The Belgians, none of whom were injured, were fired upon from a house. The troops surrounded and stormed the house, killing two Somalis and capturing four. Six Belgians were wounded by grenade attacks in Kismayu over the previous two days.
