Intensive history lessons are being promised for the children of a woman who says she is a descendant of China's last emperor, Pu Yi.
Carol Allison, 25, who says her grandfather on her mother's side was the emperor's cousin, yesterday married Robert Musetti, 26, an American stockbroker, at St Anne's Church, Stanley.
The new Mrs Musetti is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French, but did not have a profound understanding of Chinese history, said her mother, Dr Darling Lee Allison, a hospital senior medical officer.
'We are still proud of our origins,' Dr Allison said. 'I suppose at least I will let them [her future grandchildren] know what their origin is when the time comes.' The couple, who live in New York, married in Hong Kong because Mrs Musetti, a financial consultant, was born here. She studied at King George V School and an American university.
