Such a mess

Every Saturday without exception a number of young, enthusiastic, local estate agents arrive at Silverstrand, Clearwater Bay, armed with batches of posters, advertising houses for sale, which they proceed to display from railings and lamp-posts.

Before the day is out, especially on rainy weather, the ads have become detached and the pavements and grassy areas beside them are strewn with litter.

The agents do not seem to care that they cause such a nuisance, nor that someone else, namely the lady who sweeps the road, has to clear up the mess they leave behind.

They are oblivious to the complaints made to them by residents; they are unsympathetic when they are phoned about the problem; and worst of all, they have started to make extra trips on Sundays. This means that just as one day's rubbish is dealt with, they arrive ready to cause another.

Two of the culprits are BCI Property Agency and Good Fortune Realty. Would they care to comment? LINDA WELLS Clearwater Bay
