Sega has announced its intention to move into the personal computer market.

All video gamers know that arcade games and PCs have been oxymorons. When you combine the two you get slow frame rates, choppy animation, low polygon counts and 2D sprite-based characters.

Sega Entertainment will attempt to redefine PC arcade gaming with a new category of titles featuring high-frame rates, 3D characters and environments rendered in real-time, high polygon counts, detailed texture mapping and emotion-triggered gameplay.

Sega Entertainment was formed in March through a joint venture between Sega of America and Softbank.
