Trademark law gazetted

Legislation giving effect to parts of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) ordinance on intellectual property dealing with trademarks will be gazetted today.

A spokesman for the Trade and Industry Branch said yesterday that the WTO Ordinance amends Hong Kong's Trade Marks Ordinance, among others, to bring it in line with international standards.

The relevant provisions are expected to come into operation before the end of this year.
