Network gets thumbs up
Vice-mayors from 25 cities in northeastern China and Inner Mongolia have agreed to establish a transport network to link warehouses, transport hubs and ports in the region.
Xinhua (the New China News Agency) said the vice-mayors met in the port city of Dalian to put new life into the economy of northeast China and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The network will have Dalian as its window to the outside world and the cities of Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang as major connection points for the purpose of increasing the flow of resources, information, and goods among the northeast and Inner Mongolia, Xinhua said.
Dalian has a joint investment scheme with Singapore to build the Dayaowan container wharf.
