Hot action in world of silence
Mime artists are inviting youngsters to show off their talents alongside the professionals in shows at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Studio Theatre tomorrow and Sunday.
The Invisible People Mime Theatre from the United States plans to take the audience on a journey beyond the spoken word, into a world where the eyes 'hear' the heart.
Marcel Marceau, the world famous mime artist, who is the group's artistic adviser, said: 'They are a company that brings a new force and integrity to our art.' The show, entitled Seeing the Invisible, includes a mystic act using magic hat, a romantic comedy, a scary tale, a story on the joys and fears of parents watching their child grow up, a history of humans and their competitive nature and a talent sequence.
The show is one of the attractions at the International Arts Carnival which will run until August 4 featuring circus acts, comedy, magic shows, music, puppetry, film and workshops.
Tickets cost between $50 and $180 with half-price discounts for senior citizens, the disabled and full-time students. They are available from Urbtix and reservations can be made on 2734 9009.
