Costly remand
The other day it was reported the police used about 200 men in an operation to take one prisoner to court - at vast expense. It was further disclosed this prisoner intended to insist he be allowed to appear before the court for remand every eight days, as apparently is his right.
I believe there are precedents where a magistrate can go to a place such as a hospital, and remand prisoners for further custody. Maybe the judiciary could consider and inform us if this is practicable in such cases.
