Korean Air ranks first in Asia

Korean Air has been ranked as the third-largest international scheduled freight carrier according to International Air Transport Association in the 1995 edition of World Air Transport Statistics .


The airline carried 4.3 billion freight tonne kilometres, representing an 11.5 per cent growth over 1994.


Lufthansa and Air France were ranked first and second in 1995. Korean Air was significantly ahead of other major Asian carriers, including Singapore Airlines (ranked fourth), Japan Airlines (ranked sixth), and Cathay Pacific Airways (ranked eighth).
