Three men armed with metal bars tied up watchmen and stole three containers holding television sets worth more than $4 million.

The trio surprised the watchmen at a car-park on Container Port Road South near Stonecutters Island early yesterday morning.

Police said the robbery was well planned and may have been an inside job.

Two empty containers were later found in Yuen Long.

The case was reported at 5.30 am after one of the watchmen managed to untie himself.

It is thought the goods will be smuggled into China for sale on the black market.
