Vessel just a catamaran
I refer to a report 'Turbo Cat in gunboat collision' (South China Morning Post, August 19), and wish to clarify that the vessel involved was not a Turbo Cat as stated.
Turbo Cat is the service name that our company has been using since 1994 for high speed ferry services between Hong Kong/Macau and Hong Kong/Shenzhen.
The vessel that your reporter referred to is a catamaran, or in short form a cat. We understand that there might be confusion, as there are various types of catamarans and vessels operating the Hong Kong/Macau ferry route.
However, in this instance, such confusion has caused unnecessary publicity to our service.
