THE tycoon-led Better Hong Kong Foundation is wooing expatriate business groups to try to promote the Preparatory Committee.

Lunch meetings are conducted every four to six weeks for committee members to explain their work to Hong Kong-based business organisations, according to a spokesman.

Three meetings have been conducted since May. The last, this month, saw the committee's celebration panel convenors, Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai and Raymond Wu Wai-yung, briefing representatives on details of preparations for the handover.

A spokesman said the aim was to foster a better understanding of the committee's work among the overseas business community. LINDA CHOY
