FIRST Division champions Hongkong Football Club will have to win only two matches to retain their Bell's Knockout Cup title this season.

At yesterday's draw, Club were given a first-round bye and the prospect of meeting their only conquerors, Valley, in the semi-finals.

Valley, who beat Club 10-7 at Sports Road, however, are not guaranteed a semi-final place as they face a tough first-round match against Club Dragons.

Kowloon, who finished runners-up in the league, also received a first-round bye and will meet either Police or British Forces in the semi-finals.

The British Forces side will contain players from the two military sides Tigers and Flying Kukris, as well as a few players from the newly-arrived Scottish regiment, the Black Watch.

Opening-round matches for the First and Third Divisions will take place this weekend. The finals of each division are scheduled for February 27.

First Division (Peter Scott Trophy): Hongkong Football Club bye, Valley v Dragons, Kowloon bye; Police v British Forces.

Second Division (Chairman's Cup): Kowloon Lions v Valley Mustangs, Hongkong Football Club Scorpions v Kowloon Cougars, Valley Knights v Police Wanderers, Hongkong Football Club Vandals v British Forces II.
