The same company supporting the precision machining of Switzerland's watchmaking industry is raising production efficiencies in China. While manufacturers rely on machine tools to fabricate metal parts for their products, LNS Group provides top-tier peripherals for such equipment to optimise performance, quality and reliability on the production floor. From bar feeders and chip conveyors to coolant and air filtration systems, LNS automates the production processes in all major industries, such as medical, electronics, luxury, transport, energy and machinery.

"It's really about understanding market needs and delivering innovative and competitive products," says Gilbert Lile, chairman of LNS Group Management. "We're developing products suited for the Asian market with a clear focus on improving productivity and automation."

In more than 40 years, the machine tool peripheral equipment specialist has grown from a small workshop in Orvin, Switzerland, to nine production centres worldwide covering North America, Europe and Asia. The main research and development centre is located in Switzerland. However, local engineering teams adapt the product to meet specific regional client application requirements. The company's global footprint also assures original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and customers of reliable after-sales service worldwide.

In Asia, LNS aims to become a one-stop shop for all its core products. The company supplies more than half of the Asian market for bar feeders and eyes similar dominance in chip conveyors, and air and coolant filtration systems. To accomplish this, LNS doubled the production capacity of its Suzhou factory to become the largest facility within the group today. It also acquired Yoshida Tekko KK, another leading machine-tool peripheral equipment specialist from Japan.

"The maturity of the China market presents interesting challenges," Lile says. "With our local presence, innovative products and ability to satisfy specific client needs, we seek to explore market opportunities with local OEMs and dealers."
