China's central bank governor says turning the country's state banks into real commercial entities over the next five years will be an arduous task.

'The commercialisation of state banks faces both opportunities and challenges during the Ninth Five-Year Plan,' Dai Xianglong , head of the People's Bank of China, told an international forum in Beijing.
