Gambling swoop nets 23

POLICE arrested 23 people and seized more than $7,000 cash in an anti-gambling operation in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday. The Special Duty Squad raided the restaurant in Mody Road and arrested the ''mahjong pai kau'' players. The owner of the restaurant has been charged and released on $10,000 bail, while the remaining 22 were charged and released on $800 bail. They will appear in court on Tuesday.
