KLM cargo traffic rises

KLM Cargo reported a 7 per cent rise in cargo traffic last month, compared with the same month last year.

The carrier said as it had increased capacity by only 4 per cent in September. Its cargo load factor had risen by 2.1 percentage points from 67.6 to 69.7 per cent. Cargo traffic showed sharp increases, rising 30 per cent on routes to and from the Middle East and South Asia, and 20 per cent in Central and South America.

While KLM's cargo traffic between January and September rose 4 per cent and capacity 7 per cent, passenger traffic rose 8 per cent in September compared to the same month last year, accompanied by a 7 per cent increase in capacity.
