Singapore throughput drops

The Port of Singapore Authority says container throughput fell to 1.129 million 20 ft equivalent units (teus) in August from 1.144 million teus registered in July.

Cargo tonnage moving through Singapore in August was 26.035 million tonnes, against July's 27.257 million tonnes. In August, 9,888 vessels called at the port, compared with 10,045 in July.

Bunker fuel sales for 380 centistoke fuel oil was 745,400 tonnes in August, down from 801,400 tonnes in July.

The 180 centistoke fuel sales were also lower at 404,600 tonnes against July's 444,400 tonnes.
