Cheung's sprinter has Choice future

Good Choice has to be followed the next time he contests a Class Four sprint, but with the all-important proviso that he jumps with the field. The Chris Cheung-trained six-year-old should really know better at the barriers, but at last night's third event won by Fay Fay he stood the leaders up a good six lengths when simply standing still as the gates flew open. Under normal circumstances that is enough ground lost to make it impossible to get back into the race. But this was no ordinary run.

Somehow Good Choice scampered back into contention to be contesting the quinella spot as they came inside the final 200 metres. The effort of getting back into the race then began to take its toll, but Good Choice still battled on for third and has to be followed in these dashes. Keep a close eye on the fifth-placed Midas King who has looked a lovely type in the mornings and was noted staying on strongly into fifth behind Fay Fay.
