Man of the moment Riccardo Tisci's dark, sensual designs for Givenchy come straight from the heart, writes Jing Zhang.
I refer to the front-page news report in the Sunday Morning Post on December 29, about sex discrimination legislation. Although I am generally in favour of equal opportunities, I fail to understand how both sexes can apply for a job that is suitable to only one gender.
I feel bemused when I try to visualise a dozen male applicants waiting for an interview for a receptionist's job. Employers must be able to select an applicant of the appropriate gender, thereby giving them that much-needed flexibility while advertising.
Employers, however, must not discriminate against any race, religion or nationality. I remember a bank advertising for private bankers, inviting all but Indian nationals.
Now that is blatant discrimination against Indian professionals in that field in my dictionary.
