Luxury apartments on the Peak and at Jardine's Lookout worth $22 million can be counted among Mr Leung's wealth. He was earning $152,150 a month when he retired but had several properties in Hong Kong and previously had business interests in Canada.
He and wife Kitty Leung Yeung Shuk-ching, who describes her occupation as a merchant, became directors of an ambitiously titled family company, Fortune Score Ltd, in June 1993.
Their son, Hugo Leung Pak-hon, was appointed to the family company in 1994.
They bought a flat in 1994 for $8.65 million at One Robinson Place in Robinson Road, Mid-Levels. It was sold with a paper profit of $642,000 for $9.3 million in February, last year, according to records.
They own a Clovelly Court apartment in May Road, the Peak, which was purchased for $13.92 million in 1994. A little more than a week before his sudden retirement on July 6 last year, the family company agreed to buy a flat for $8.8 million in the Swiss Towers high-rise in Tai Hang Road, Jardine's Lookout.
Mr Leung has been living in the apartment with its own high-security glass-enclosed entrance since he had to move out of his government quarters.
