Nancy Cheng Lau Yuk-King MONDAY: I interviewed some parents who are planning to send their children to the school next year.

I found out why they were sending their children here and I explained the school's requirements.

I was also busy reading and drafting the appraisal forms for teachers. Although I did not write all the reports, I had to read all of them. They will be submitted to the Education Department. TUESDAY: There was an inter-house cooking competition. It was interesting to see many boys taking part.

The contestants prepared a main dish and a dessert. I was one of the judges. WEDNESDAY: I spent some time checking the school's accounts, which will be audited by the accounting section of the Education Department.

I was also busy reading letters from various schools and organisations. THURSDAY: I attended the open day at Sha Tin Government Secondary School.

The opening ceremony was attended by Tsui See-ming, senior assistant director of the Education Department.

Zhang Junsheng of Xinhua (the New China News Agency) also officiated at the ceremony. FRIDAY: I discussed with staff members the purchase of some office equipment like computers, colour printers, overhead projectors and cameras. I had to make a quick decision as we were nearing the end of the financial year.
