Carnival Corp says it has agreed with the Italian shipyard Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Italiani on the construction of a cruise ship to cost about US$430 million for its Carnival Cruise Lines unit.

The ship, to be delivered in the summer of 2000, will be a sister to the recently launched Carnival Destiny, 101,353 gross registered tonnes, the largest passenger vessel ever built. The new ship will be the third in the Destiny class.
