Long wait in slow stamp queue
On Sunday, January 26, the day the new Hong Kong stamps were released, shortly before 9.30am, the queue was just half way round Sheung Wan Post Office building.
When the post office opened at 9.30am, the queue got shorter.
Then, after this promising start, it slowed down, moving every 30 minutes and after 12 noon, every 50 minutes.
I emerged from the post office at 2pm. In other words I stood for 41/2 hours in a queue that only extended round one half of the building.
I urge the Postmaster General to look into the procedures and efficiency of the Sheung Wan Post Office.
I hoped things can be handled more efficiently in the future, so that next time, I can keep my lunch appointment.
