Need to boost computer literacy

It seems Anthony Lee from Brisbane, Australia, likes to make jibes for the sake of making them.

In his letter 'No home-page on Internet' (South China Morning Post, February 1) he seems upset that since I do not have a home-page, and that I wrote in an article that 'it will be crucial to make all our youngsters computer literate', this was somehow not right.

It is surely in very poor spirit that Mr Lee chooses to view my lack of a home-page.

It is precisely because I am aware of my own shortcomings in computer literacy that I want Hong Kong youngsters to do better.

When I went to school, the system did not train us in computers. There are unfortunately still too many schools not equipped to give that skill to our students. That must change. I trust Mr Lee has no problems with this.

As for me not having a home-page, one is being created.
