The top honours in the Sunday Morning Post/ Micropal Fund Manager of the Year Awards go to those with the best long-term records, who can achieve the vital balance between risk and reward. The table of last year's award winners shows the teams whose consistency has to be bettered by whoever is to be presented with their coveted titles at a dinner at the Island Shangri-La on March 6. Last year's top performers over three and five years demonstrated widely differing strategies. Global Asset Management puts its faith in the flair of the individual managers. Morgan Stanley uses a disciplined stock-picking technique.


It remains to be seen whether their performance last year, when so many key markets entered new ground, was enough to keep them at the top.
