The New Zealand import had been backed on several occasions as a griffin but had descended to Class Five for yesterday's Classes Five and Six event over 2,000 metres. Stable jockey Wendyll Woods, who has been firing in the winners recently, took Add Some to the front and let him bowl along. Add Some seemed to be enjoying himself and Woods judged the pace well, leaving something in the tank for the final stages.

It was still desperately close, however, with the minimum margin separating Add Some from topweight Planet II, who belied his 35-1 odds with a stirring display.

Claimer Peter W. L. Ho eased him coming to the home turn and it looked briefly as if the five-year-old had had enough. But Ho got to work in the straight and he was fast closing on Add Some.

The post arrived in time for Woods while Super Lord, solidly in the market at 5-1, finished a further two lengths back in third position.

Support for Money For You (6-1) and Light And Bright (5-1) was hopelessly misplaced as they finished second last and last respectively.

There was an avalanche of misplaced money on Heart To Heart at Happy Valley last time when the three-year-old ran no sort of a race at all.

But it was a different story at Sha Tin yesterday when Richard Quinn, enjoying a successful end to his three-month stint, got him up by a head in the Class Five, 1,400-metre event.

Quinn was at his vigorous best to get Heart To Heart home as he had to peg back long-time leader Gallant Middy.

The 30-1 outsider was still going strongly at the 200-metre mark and it was only in the last 50 metres that he began to shorten his stride slightly. That let Heart To Heart in and Quinn prevailed narrowly.

Favourite and topweight Sonic (3-1) seemed to have every chance and was a well beaten third.
