Legend signs Windows deal

MICROSOFT signed a deal with China's largest computer maker, Legend Group, to install Windows 95 in all its new computers. The US$93.2 million deal is the largest contract signed between a United States and mainland company to help curb intellectual property rights abuses in China. Microsoft regards Legend as a long-term partner with others such as Hewlett Packard, NEC and Siemens. Legend's chairman said it aims to enlarge its market share by using the most popular software.
