Bruce Hutchison's team have been in cracking form without any luck in recent meetings. Last night Hutchison sent out another frustrating second in the shape of Onaroll in the sixth and his Irish import Aspiration was noticeably short of room in the feature event. Aspiration had caught the eye prior to that when making good ground into fourth behind Leprechaun over 1,400 metres at Sha Tin, but it was hard to have too firm an opinion about the promise of that run as it came in a very fast run race where the back runners had to be favoured.

Last night Aspiration confirmed he can win from his current rating of 73 with that creditable effort behind Pinky Long Legs. He was beaten 51/4 lengths into seventh but was worth at least a length's compensation when stuck on the fence with nowhere to go in the final 50 metres.

Don't give up on Miss Piggy who ran down the field behind Pinky Long Legs, having been wide for most of the way. LCW
