India-based Essar Shipping is considering buying a second-hand Capesize bulk carrier.

The ship, which would be about 125,000 deadweight tonnes, would be used for transporting iron ore and pellets from Visakhapatnam on the east coast to Hazira in the west.

The carrier, which has 23 vessels, including six tug boats, also plans to acquire more oil tankers as well as new ships to replace its fleet of product carriers.
