I refer to the letter from Damian Bartman (South China Morning Post, April 15), regarding ATV's coverage of the Rugby Sevens match between Western Samoa and Wales.
Programme schedule commitments prevent us from running our programmes beyond their previously allotted times.
It was unfortunate that Friday matches during the Sevens weekend were running behind time, which made it necessary for ATV to cut short its broadcast of an advertised game. ATV did announce results of this game and others when it continued its Sevens coverage the following day. We are sorry that Mr Bartman's original telephone message went unanswered and have since called him to explain the circumstances surrounding this.
