The Western Harbour Crossing, one of the 10 Airport Core Programme projects, was completed three months ahead of schedule and below budget.

The tunnel links Western with the West Kowloon Reclamation, where a 20-lane toll plaza is located and the West Kowloon Expressway begins.

It is the third cross-harbour tunnel in the territory and the first to have six lanes. Its opening increases the cross-harbour traffic capacity by 75 per cent, to 420,000 vehicles per day.
