Feeling heat on the Star Ferry

Last year I remember a spokesman for the Star Ferry Company (ie, Wharf) proudly assuring readers of the South China Morning Post that every ferry had an air-conditioned section.

I think we can all agree that summer has been with us for a few weeks.

Regrettably there has been virtually no air-conditioning so far, at least from my personal experience.

I invite the Wharf spokesman to be kind enough to arrange air-conditioning as agreed last year and to explain the Star Ferry policy as to when it operates.

This will enable commuters to decide in advance whether to use the ferry or other methods of crossing the harbour where air-conditioning is guaranteed.

It has also been noted that the fares have increased.

Surely cost cannot now be a factor? BRIAN HUGHES Tsim Sha Tsui
