It is a big relief to ethnic minorities of Indian origin holding BNO passports to learn that they will get full British passports.
However, in spite of the fact that the Pakistani Consulate has invalidated the Pakistani passports of those Pakistanis who have BNO passports, doubts still linger about their eligibility to qualify for full British passports.
This would be an unfortunate situation. The anxiety faced by the few Pakistanis holding BNO passports is very genuine.
It is hoped that the British Trade Commission will show the same concern for Pakistani BNO passport holders as they did for their Indian counterparts.
I would request the Pakistani Consul-General to ask the British authorities to clarify the issue and urge them to remove the state of uncertainty facing these hapless Pakistani BNO holders.
