Allendorf to star on Oscar's Award

Oscar's Award can make it win number three for experienced Australian jockey Geoff Allendorf, who was formerly retained in Hong Kong by Bruce Hutchison.

Allendorf has been one of the most prolific riders at the Taipa track in recent seasons but had to endure a nightmare start to his most recent stint there before scoring on Turn Luck on the sand 10 days ago.

Allendorf notched another winner last weekend and in Oscar's Award appears to have a tremendous opportunity to make all the running in the ninth event.

The three-year-old had good form in Australia before coming to Macau, where he has started just once.

On that occasion he showed blistering early speed but was undone by a bog track and lack of hard racing condition.

He eventually ran 2.5 lengths third to the useful wet track specialist Polyline and the exciting New Zealand import Cheering Treasure.

That outing will have done Oscar's Award a power of good and he looked to be moving really well in his final gallop earlier this week. The advanced going for this evening's meeting is yielding and that should be fast enough to see Oscar's Award establish an unassailable lead.

Wonderful Kid is another who can make all the running, this time for jockey Stephen Sharman and the veteran handler 'Hollywood' George Williams.

Wonderful Kid is drawn in barrier one in an uncompetitive event. He loves to lead and he loves any cut in the ground.
