Crowds should have been told

On the night of July 1, the fireworks were spectacular, however, the whole thing was badly organised.

We felt we had been cheated, because we had to wait for 50 minutes before the fireworks started. They were meant to begin at 9pm, but the display did not get going until 9.50pm. This meant that because most of the people in the crowd had arrived early, they had already waited for more than 1.5 hours to see a display that lasted just 10 minutes.

While we waited we were forced to watch an unattractive boat show. As conditions were so crowded, most people were bored and some did not feel well. The organisers should have appreciated that we were members of the general public, not guests sitting in the Regent Hotel or the Convention Centre. We were standing in the open, in the rain.

They should have made a public announcement beforehand, that they were going to reschedule the fireworks display.
