Jumbo forced to abort take-off

A jumbo jet carrying 200 passengers and crew was forced to abandon its take off from Kai Tak after an engine failed to generate enough power. The crew of the All Nippon Airways 747 to Tokyo slammed on the brakes after discovering the number one engine had not produced enough thrust.


Most passengers remained in Hong Kong overnight. No injuries were reported.
