A pipeline linking a Singaporean tanker to containers at Shell Oil's Tsing Yi terminal ruptured yesterday, spewing heavy oil over a 1,000 square metre area. The ship's master blamed the spillage, cleared by Shell's anti-pollution vessel within hours, on a fault in the pumping system.
