A teenage girl has been charged over an alleged $650,000 extortion attempt. Police said a businessman, 49, was phoned at his Yau Ma Tei office on Monday by a woman who said his son, 15, had been kidnapped.

 She had told him to take $650,000 to a Tuen Mun hotel. A 17-year-old girl will appear in court today.
