Actress plays ex-First Lady
ACADEMY Award-winning actress Shirely MacLaine and Nicolas Cage are co-starring in Guarding Tess on locations in Baltimore for director Hugh Wilson.
MacLaine plays Tess Carlisle, a quarrelsome ex-First Lady whose husband died in office 10 years ago, who finds herself still tied to a Secret Service agent in a sleepy rural town.
Paramount Pictures will produce a sequel to its 1991 comedy hit The Addams Family with Barry Sonnenfeld directing many of the same cast members who starred in the original.
Returning to their roles as the crazy Addams clan are Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia as Morticia and Gomez Addams, and Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester.
Carol Kane will assume the role of Granny Addams while John Cusack will play Debbie, the family nanny. Also returning to the cast are Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams, Jimmy Workman as Pugsley Addams and Carel Struycken as Lurch.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has landed its two top performing winners of last year, Jodie Foster and Sir Anthony Hopkins, to participate in this year's 65th annual Oscar ceremonies.

Also taking part in the festivities are Tom Hanks, Whoopi Goldberg, Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis and Jack Palance. Billy Crystal will be master of ceremonies at the Oscar bash on March 29 at the Los Angeles Music Centre.
