China has started work on seven new berths in Yantai port in Shandong province, Xinhua (the New China News Agency) said.
The 2.2 billion yuan (about HK$2.04 billion) project includes two container berths and is part of the port's third phase. Each berth is capable of handling vessels up to 10,000 tonnes and work will be finished in seven years.
