A majority of young Hong Kong people believe they are smarter than their mainland counterparts, according to an RTHK poll.

Of 353 respondents, aged 15 to 30, 52 per cent said they could beat their mainland rivals when competing for jobs.

Three-quarters said they were better at 'writing and comprehending English' than mainlanders, but two-thirds admitted that their counterparts were better at written Chinese.
