Snow and sunshine

Stretching 4,200 kilometres down South America's coast, yet never extending beyond 200 kilometres inland, Chile is the world's narrowest country.


But such geographical uniqueness has advantages. Santiago is one of the few capitals where residents can snow ski in the morning and sunbathe beside the Pacific Ocean in the afternoon.
