Revolting

I travel along Bulkeley Street in Hunghom on my way to work six days a week.

Some time ago I found that a ditch had been excavated along the side of the road outside the 7-Eleven store which extends along most of the block.

At the time, the ditch was filled with rainwater and rubbish and was a danger to the elderly and young alike. Now, over five months later, the water has turned black and the rubbish is rotting. Apart from the obvious danger we now have a serious health hazard.

I wish to inquire as to which government department was responsible for digging this ditch in the first place and why it has been allowed to remain open and unattended for so long.

No obvious work has been carried out in it since the project was started.

The shopkeepers and residents of the area are taxpayers and I believe they deserve an explanation. Whoever is responsible for allowing this revolting situation to go on for so long should be made to set up a temporary office beside it. I imagine then that the work would be finished in record time.
