A YOUNG man injured himself when he jumped from a moving taxi on the Island Eastern Corridor yesterday in an apparent bid to escape from his nagging girlfriend.

Police said the couple had earlier been to a karaoke lounge in Mongkok, where the girlfriend scolded the 21-year-old man for spending too much time with other girls.

The 20-year-old woman stormed out of the premises, followed by the man, and they both got into a taxi and headed for Causeway Bay.

As the woman kept up the verbal attack, the man suddenly opened his door and jumped out near Victoria Park Road just before 2.40 am.

He was taken to nearby Tang Shiu Kin Hospital where he was treated for hand and head injuries and discharged.
